Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment

Betts Envirometal has always prided itself on being at the forefront when it comes to precious metal recovery and we apply the same standards and high recovery rates to Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) including Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).

Since 1st July 2007 the WEEE directive became law in the UK meaning anyone disposing of WEEE must dispose of it through an authorised treatment facility.

With its Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) status, Betts Envirometal is the perfect partner to help you meet your legal waste disposal requirements. We operate a fleet of specialist vehicles and can collect your WEEE from anywhere in the UK at a date and time to suit your needs.

On collection we will provide all required duty of care paperwork and your waste will be transported in Betts secure Vehicles equipped with trackers so we know where your WEEE is at all times. Once processed, we also provide certificates of destruction, taking all the stress out of WEEE disposal

WEEE is treated in line with the Best Available Treatment, Recovery and Recycling Techniques (BATRRT). Electronic equipment is stripped down into its basic materials such as copper, steel and plastics. Each material is then recycled through the most environmental efficient means possible to ensure zero materials from your WEEE waste goes to landfill. As always, we our focus is to approach waste as a resource and generate value where possible. For IT disposal we offer a secure destruction service where we ensure that all hard drives and storage devices are destroyed so that no information can be recovered.

As precious metal experts, Betts Envirometal specialises in offering excellent returns on PCBs (printed circuit boards). Circuit boards of all sizes exist across billions of devices worldwide – from the very small, such as smartphones, with their precious elements – to the very large, like desktop PCs, containing many thousands of common electrical components and metals. We offer a free sample and assay service for your circuit board disposal.

PCB’s vary in their content of precious metal. Some have very little precious metal whereas others contain a good amount which makes them very valuable. We utilise chemical processes to ensure that 100% of the board is recycled. As we are the UK experts in precious metal recovery, you can be assured that we use the most effective methods possible, giving you the best returns.

This comprehensive and efficient approach ultimately benefits both our customers and the environment; as the efficient breaking down of circuit boards minimises the number of harmful by-products produced, whilst also ensuring maximised yields of precious metals recovered during the process, enhancing financial benefits.

We are fully licensed with the Environment Agency and have a fleet of vehicles, nationwide, that can collect and transport your PCB and other electronic waste. With our experience and reputation for reclaiming precious metals, you can be assured of a speedy, honest and efficient evaluation of your waste.

WEEE – Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment

Betts Envirometal has always prided itself on being at the forefront when it comes to precious metal recovery and we apply the same standards and high recovery rates to WEEE Waste as we have always done to gold and silver.

Since 1st July 2007 the WEEE directive became law in the UK meaning anyone disposing of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) must dispose of it through an authorised treatment facility.

With its Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) status, Betts Envirometal is the perfect partner to help you meet your legal waste disposal requirements. We operate a fleet of specialist vehicles and can collect your WEEE from anywhere in the UK at a day and time to suit your needs.

On collection we will provide all required duty of care paperwork and electrical equipment will be transported in Betts secure Vehicles equipped with tracker so we know where your WEEE is at all times.

For IT disposal we offer a secure destruction service where we ensure that all hard drives and storage devices are destroyed so that no information can be recovered.

At one of our specialist treatment facilities electronic equipment is stripped down into its basic materials such as copper, steel and plastics. Each material is then recycled through the most environmental efficient means possible to ensure zero materials from your WEEE waste goes to landfill.

AATF Certified

In order to process waste from WEEE producer compliance schemes and issue evidence notes, a site must be AATF Certified, this means the site meets strict guidelines and electrical equipment is treated in line with the Best Available Treatment, Recovery and Recycling Techniques (BATRRT).

Betts can process all your Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) at one of our Approved Authorised Treatment Facility. With sites in the Midlands and The Southeast of England serviced by a fleet of tracked specialist vehicles we are the ideal partner to meet all your recycling and recovery needs. We will collect from your premises at a date and time to suit you and issue all duty of care paperwork and certificates of destruction taking all the stress out of WEEE disposal.

Circuit Board Recovery

As precious metal prices continue to rise, Betts Envirometal can offer excellent returns on your PCB’s.(printed circuit boards).

Circuit boards of all sizes exist across billions of devices worldwide – from the very small, such as smartphones, with their precious elements – to the very large, like desktop PCs, containing many thousands of common electrical components and metals.

Free sample and assay service for your circuit board disposal

We offer a free sample and assay service for your circuit board disposal. PCB’s vary in their content of precious metal, some have very little precious metals whereas others contain a good amount which makes them very valuable. We ensure that 100% of the board is recycled at our factory and as we are the UK experts in precious metal recovery, you can be assured that we use the most effective methods possible, giving you the best returns.

This comprehensive and efficient approach ultimately benefits both our customers and the environment; as the efficient breaking down of circuit boards minimises the number of harmful by-products produced, and therefore from finding their way into the environment after the fact; while also ensuring maximum yield and purity in regards to the precious metals and chemicals recovered during the process, maximising financial benefits.

Broadly speaking the process of recycling PCBs (which is covered in much greater detail here) consists of three steps; the separation of metals from the other PCB material, the sorting of useful/valuable metals from the other metals, with the remaining material being further treated and/or recycled to minimise any negative environmental impact.

We are fully licensed with the Environment Agency and have a fleet of vehicles, nationwide, that can collect and transport your PCB waste. With our experience and reputation for reclaiming precious metals, you can be assured of a speedy, honest and efficient evaluation of your waste.

Please note that we do process volume amounts of circuit boards:, we can’t accept individual boards.
